Family picnic this weekend

With the help of SFA Gardens and a “More Kids in the Woods” grant, the “Nacogdoches Naturally” program will be taking a day trip to the Ragtown Recreation area on Toledo Bend in the Sabine National Forest, on Saturday, February 9, 2013. A picnic lunch is provided, and there will be time for hiking, bird-watching and fishing. The destination is just an hour away, and you’ll be home by supper time (bus leaves at 4:00 p.m. for the trip home). This is a wonderful opportunity to spend some time together outside with your friends and family before it gets too hot again. Spring and summer are just around the corner – better get outside while the temperatures are still pleasant!

The cost for the event is $15 per family (driving your own car) or $25 per family (if you need a ride in the SFA van). The group will meet at the SFA Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet, at 8:00 a.m.

Registration deadline is Thursday, February 7, 2013.

To register, call Kerry Lemon, at 936-468-5586.
