Family picnic March 22

Do you know an Absolutely Incredible Kid?

On Thursday, March 20, people across the nation will recognize “Absolutely Incredible Kid” day, an annual event that is hosted by the national youth organization of Camp Fire. Parents, grandparents, teachers, older teens and others are encouraged to write a letter to a young person who they know is an Absolutely Incredible Kid and send positive words of encouragement and inspiration to them. Although writing a letter may seem to be a simple act, this special recognition can become a treasured memory.

To join the celebration, Camp Fire Southeast Texas will host a family picnic at their Camp Niwana location in Woodville, Texas. The BYOP event (Bring Your Own Picnic) will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a free event and the community is invited to attend any time during the day. Pack up your own picnics and come out to Niwana to enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends and family. Other available options include a small lake for fishing (bring your own fishing gear) and trails for hiking or birding, as well as a big field for playing sports and games. Camp staff will be on hand to provide tours of the camp and information about summer day camp, resident camp and swimming lessons. Special stationary will also be provided so you can write an Absolutely Incredible Kid Day letter while you are there.
