We are living in some very difficult times and difficult decisions are being made in regards to our pets, but this family's decision is unspeakable.
In an East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, Lashon Johnson and her son Lorenzo let their dog out at their old apartment and using a shopping cart, moved to a new apartment that didn't allow pets. Isis, their pet, followed them. The two ignored the dog's pleas to be let in inspite of the freezing cold weather. According to neighbors, Isis paced in front of the apartment for more than four hours before being attacked by several neighborhood kids with baseball bats and a broomstick. Isis returned to the Johnson's doorstep again after her beating. Police followed her bloody pawprints where they found her and charged her owner with misdemeanor animal cruelty.
