Family of 7 kidnapped: 4 children and 3 adults missing in Cameroon

A family of 7 has been kidnapped in Cameroon. On Feb. 19, FOX News reported that the French family of three adults and four children may have been kidnapped by the Boko Haram. French President Francois Hollande has warned other French citizens in the region "to avoid exposing themselves."

As of now, a French official close to the embassy in Cameroon believes that the family has been taken to Nigeria. It is unknown what the group wants from the government -- if anything -- and further details about what exactly happened have been sparse. There is a possibility that the group responsible for the kidnapping has terrorist ties.

The family of 7 was kidnapped without any instructions as far as the public knows. It is unknown what the group plans to do with them but many are fearing the worst. The area is becoming more dangerous for Westerners and more attacks are expected.

"The French military is conducting operations with the Malian army to defeat Islamic fighters who took over that country's north in the weeks after a military coup there last year. The latest kidnappings have added to fears of instability and danger toward Westerners," FOX News reported. Westerners visiting Cameroon and its surrounding countries are being cautioned.

Many hope the family of 7 that was kidnapped is released soon.
