Family kicked off plane after calling foul on in-flight entertainment (Video)

A family was kicked off a plane and now that incident is trending on April 5. According to Inquistr, the problem began with this tribe's feelings about and subsequent request regarding the so-called undesirable airing of an in-flight movie that was turned on as the aircraft was mid-flight between Denver and Baltimore.

Apparently, this clan of Colorado passengers was not happy when the flick, called "Alex Cross" starring Tyler Perry and Matthew Fox and rated PG-13, turned up on the United Airlines jet's monitors. And so began what ended up being the end of the flight not long after it started as the plane landed on a runway in a destination not on the itinerary.

Here's what happened: The parents of two small children who were all going to Maryland were watching the screen when mom and dad realized that the flick was a bit too violent for the young ones in their little family.

With that on their collective minds, these protective adults requested that the monitors be turned off. A flight attendant said that was not an option and so these persistent parents pressed on, asking if perhaps the captain of this particular ship could make a different call.

All of a sudden, the captain in question got on the horn and told the entire plane that he was diverting the aircraft he commanded because of what he considered "security concerns." The unscheduled landing was made at Chicago's O'Hare Airport and then the family was kicked off the plane in a formal way. In fact, it was a police officer who took over by boarding the aircraft and escorting this clan off the jet.

Not surprisingly, the family was astonished at what transpired and went to The Atlantic to talk about their incredulous situation. Their anonymous missive read in part, "The captain apparently felt that our complaint constituted grave danger...and that this danger justified inconveniencing crew and... customers, causing dozens to miss their connections."

However, in the same statement, the family who was kicked off the plane complimented those involved, including the flight attendant. The father of the family, who was the writer of this message, said that "...throughout these interactions the atmosphere was congenial. No voices were raised and no threats, implicit or explicit, of any kind were made."

The letter concluded, "The flight continued without incident, while my wife and I engaged our children to divert their attention from the horrific scenes on the movie screens."

As of this writing, the family who was kicked off the plane after calling foul over the choice of in-flight entertainment in the form of the PG-13 rated move called "Alex Cross" started appearing on the screens in front of them have reportedly not been sent an apology. This is so even though the FBI allegedly said this family's inflight request did not indicate a security risk in any way whatsoever. Talk about a long, extremely arduous, and quite frustrating trip.
