Family Guy iPhone iPod Touch app review

Contrary to popular belief, the Family Guy app is not "freakin sweet"

Everybody in the free world knows about the controversial show Family Guy and love it or hate it, it is one of the most popular shows on television. To capitalize on the show’s success, Fox Mobile Entertainment released a Family Guy app for the iPhone and iPod Touch and it was recently put on sale for 99 cents. Unfortunately, the app isn’t even worth a download in it’s present mode if it were free.

The Family Guy app is marketed as a youtube of family guy clips. Sounds amazing in theory but what they don’t tell you is the clip library is limited and the length of the clips are short. Few clips on the app are longer than ten seconds. I do like the way that the clips are organized, but a search feature would also help. The app is made for WiFi and using 3G is a waste of time as it is much slower. The two “games” included are also major wastes of time.

This is how I felt after playing the Family Guy app for five minutes:

In short the Family Guy app in its present form is one of the worst apps on iTunes. If an update is released that drastically overhauls the app and makes the clips be longer and more clips with a search feature, it could be a great app. Until then the app is a rip off and waste of time. Do not buy the Family Guy app.
