'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane -- lashing out at Arizona immigration law

Seth MacFarlane -- better known to millions of Americans as the creator of "Family Guy" -- is joining the ranks of other celerities who are lashing out at the State of Arizona over its rigid immigration laws. As a matter of fact, he is comparing it to the Nazi regime.

In an interview with Reuters, Seth had this to say:

"It's too much. It's kind of a slap in the face, it's not the way to handle it...Nobody but the Nazis ever asked anybody for their papers...Walking down the street, a cop can come up to you and say 'May I see your papers?' -- I think they should be required to ask that question in German if the law sticks around."

Other stars, such as singer Shakira, are also working to reverse the new immigration law that requires suspected illegal immigrants to show some sort of identification.

As for Seth's show, "Family Guy" celebrated its 150th episode on Sunday night.

Do you think MacFarlane is taking this a little far, or do you agree with him? Feel free to share your thoughts below!

    I agree with MacFarlane.

Someone tell these idiots that Federal Law already requires non-citizens to carry their papers on them at all times already. The 1940 Immigration Act, take a look and then be quiet.

  • JM 2 years ago

    Typical phony intellectual.

"Nobody but the Nazis ever asked anybody for their papers"

Every country on planet Earth asks for ID in one form or another. The Liberals are unhinged because they know Arizona, unlike the Feds, will actually enforce the law, and this is bad for one of the DNC's top two voting blocks (dead people, illegals).

maybe atleast one state can get the ball rollin lets double the number of people we deport to mexico at a miminum

  • Angry Native 2 years ago

I say that the law is perfect. People should be asked for identification no matter what. We have immigrants mooching off the government. We hav the immigrants taking OUR government benefits. Here in New Mexico we see them driving new cars tricked out and you see us Natives with old cars that barely run. We see them carrying around wads of money and still buy groceries with their EBT's. How does that happen? We need this law in New Mexico. Bout time someone does something about all this chaos. Honest people want to work and they come and take our jobs.well I'm sayin I support this law. Lawsuits upon this law will not win. ILLEGAL CITIZENS DON'T HAVE RIGHTS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT CITIZENS OF THE U.S, THEREFORE THE CONSTITUTION DOES NOT APPLY TO THEM! DUH!!! NOW DROP IT AND GO BACK IF ITS SO AWESOME!

The law clearly states that like not wearing your seatbelt, you cannot be stopped for the sole purpose of possibly being an illegal. This means you get arrested or stopped for a violation you must prove you are a citizen.

  • D 2 years ago

Seth is an idiot. Illegal immigrants are breaking the law, end of story.

  • Laz 2 years ago

Hilarious. Seth lives in Hollywood, which is a town in the most bankrupt state in the union, and yet he feels entitled to honor us with his opinion in a state that he doesn't live in. Liberals are the first to state "Let the states decide." Well, a state decided, and now you have the audacity to tell them they're wrong. Kids, you can learn from this. If you wanna prove you're brainless, just liberally call people Nazis if you don't agree with them.

Arizona has a lot of trouble w/ immigrant gangs and crime. So they stand up to it, and you call it unconstitutional. They finally have the chutzpah to do something about it. Stay strong, and look out for your people! Good for you, Arizona, and SCREW YOU, SETH! YOU'RE SHOW'S SUCKED FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS!

If someone wants to come to the States for a better life, I have no objection - most people are a few generations away from being immigrants themselves. If the government wants to help in the form of health care, welfare, etc., then I object, if the "illegals" haven't put into the system. At that point, they should be told no, but if they become part of the system, then they can participate...lots of "ifs" in this. While I'm at it, does it both anyone that we take care of people in prisons for years using taxpayer dollars?

Exactly Beast. Most of those yelling the loudest are ignorant to the current law. AZ is deep in the red with a large part of funds going to support illegals through welfare and health care. Of course I wouldn't expect Seth to know this since it's easier to pile on with baseless claims of racism. Pack mentality at its finest.

  • Becs 2 years ago

I can understand where he is coming from... the law can be abused by local officials by not using just cause to ask for identification. If there is no just cause no police officer or anyone has the right to say, "You got any ID?" Now if they want to set up more road stops for drivers license, insurance and registration that's within law enforcements ability to do so. The concern is that this law will be abused. "Ihre papiere bitte!" *shutters*

The rest of the states should follow Arizona!

A person who would like to be an American has to do it legally. PERIOD.

This guy Seth Farlame is retarded, i wish he saw what real Nazism is. GO AZ, all states need it!

WE GOT BE FAIR RIGHT. STILL THE LAND, GET THE SLAVES FROM AFRICA, INVADE MEXICO AND THEN MAKE OUR LAWS THAT EVERYONES GOT FOLLOW BUT WE DIDN'T FOLLOW THERE LAWS. HAHA THIS STUFF IS FUNNY.

  • Bill 2 years ago

People are missing the point when slamming people who oppose the law. The issue at heart is LEGAL latino citizens who now have to show papers. YES illegal immigrants need to be dealt with, but this isn't the way. Turn it around and say the majority in the US were latinos, and now white people have to show papers to prove they aren't immigrants/illegal. How would you feel, honestly?

  • Kambyr 2 years ago

Why can't I find a man like Seth... He actually has a brain.

  • Patrick 1 year ago

Thank you, Seth! Damn he is so smart! I really like him! Now I know I'm not the only one thinking the same thing. It's pretty sickening, actually. Just think if the government or state government did that to every white or black person, their would be uproars. It's ridiculous. I love Mr. MacFarlane.

I’m half hispanic and brown enough to cause suspicion. I’m against illegal immigration but we cannot deny that the law opens gateways to racial profiling. I’ve been questioned by authorities for no legitimate reason; I’m a guy with a clean record, a college degree, and proud to be an American. It’s easy for a person who’s visibly white to support Arizona’s actions, but it is very annoying for someone like me, who has done no harm to anyone. If the government wants to keep illegals out then build a sustainable fence and penalize those who employ undocumented people. But questioning someone by their looks…is just sad.

  • From Puerto Rico 1 year ago

Wow is this law racist or what? I'm from Puerto Rico which makes me a US citizen and it also makes me a Hispanic for the record. In Puerto Rico we have the same problem with Dominicans and I must tell everyone that's in favor of this law that this isn't the way to deal with this problem. As a Latino I feel offended by this law.
