Putting an end to what was the most controversial TV death of the season, last night "Family Guy" brought back beloved canine Brian Griffin in its latest holiday outing. It was a very emotional moment, one that hopefully calmed the outrage that many felt once they learned of Brian's fate several weeks ago. However, as Seth MacFarlane tweeted, did anyone really believe they would kill off Brian? He also gave out this sarcastically heartwarming message:
And thus endeth our warm, fuzzy holiday lesson: Never take those you love for granted, for they can be gone in a flash.
The episode began with the usual "Family Guy" hijinks, which led Peter on a quest to convince Lois' dad Carter to bring back the Christmas parade. Once he succeeded, a highly emotional Stewie confessed to Santa that he wanted his dead dog and best friend back, which made current dog Vinnie sad. Vinnie tried his best to be Brian for Stewie, but it just wasn't the same. So off they were in the toy store, where Stewie saw another version of himself buying a toy, which allowed him to get the time travel return pad and save the day.
"Home Alone" with competent criminals was a hoot.
Seriously, who wouldn't want a copy of "Wish It, Want It, You Blew It"?
What did you think? Were you glad to see Brian return?
