The City of Arlington’s Park and Recreation Department’s annual Family Fun Campout is coming up in Veterans Park. Get some fresh air, meet your neighbors, and have some fun in one of the prettiest parks in the City of Arlington.

Pitch your tent in the open space at Veterans Park and sleep under the stars.

The night of sleeping under the stars is Friday, October 12, starting at 4 p.m. Filling the hours between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m., there will be a variety of activities designed to amuse, excite, entertain, and create memories.

Bring your appetite, because there will be s’mores—you can’t have a campout without them, right? Bring your creativity and decorate your tent with everyone else. Bring your sense of humor and sportsmanship, as here will also be games and other types of entertainment that will suit all ages.

Since it’s fall in Texas, the weather should be perfectly comfortable, but make sure you dress appropriately—it is still Texas, after all and the weather can change in a flash!

Cost for the campout is $10 per person over age 2 (children under age 2 are free). There are 250 available spots, but sign up early to make sure you get one.

After the campout is officially over, explore the park and take advantage of the many amenities it offers: bike/hike paths, playground, wildscape and xeriscape gardens, and even an 18-hole disc golf course. There’s something for everyone here!

Veterans Park is located at 3600 W. Arkansas Ln. For more information about the Family Fun Campout, contact the Parks Department at 817-459-5474.
