This Saturday, August 16th, come out to Litchford Village Shopping Center for a free family event benefitting Bonnie's Book Foundation.
What is Bonnie's Book Foundation?
Bonnie's Book Foundation was founded in 1998 by Illinois native, Bonnie Graham. Throughout her life, Bonnie provided tutoring and support to underprivileged kids in the state. Her passion led to the creation of Bonnie's Book Foundation to help even more underserved children in the Chicagoland area. Bonnie understood that with access to books, children can discover the joys of reading and learning.
To support the Foundation's efforts, community events like this weekend's family fun day at Litchford Village Shopping Center, allow people in the community an opportunity to donate new and gently used books for distribution to schools and programs that serve at-risk children.
Though Bonnie passed away in 2006, her family has continued her legacy. Today, the program supports at-risk kids in communities throughout North Carolina, Illinois and Vermont. National organizations also benefit from grants provided by the Foundation.
