Family-friendly Noe Valley scavenger hunt to raise money for school

Noe Valley parents have come up with a creative, family-friendly fundraiser by combining an old fashioned scavenger hunt with new technology. The Tech Search Party, a cell phone scavenger hunt, in Noe Valley takes place tonight from 6-8 pm.

Families are welcome to participate at $50 for a team of up to 4 or $75 for a team of up to 6. This adventure gives kids a chance to build map skills and solve clues as they travel around Noe Valley snapping photos in an attempt to finish first. In addition to the fun and learning, participants will compete for prizes. All money raised goes toward improving technology at Alvarado Elementary.

If you go: The hunt begins at 6:00 pm from Alvarado Elementary School’s auditorium. Each team needs to bring a flashlight and a cell phone that can take photos and send email. Participants are given a map and clues to finding the mystery locations.  The first team to solve all the clues is the winner.
