Many people make an individual fitness resolution and never really follow through with it. A lack of discipline is often the major drawback for sticking to an ongoing routine for a successful fitness resolution. Another fitness resolution killer is, having to go at it alone. Some people need more motivation to keep them going and having a workout partner or a fitness group will keep folks on track to meeting fitness goals. So what would be better than having a family fitness resolution to get all the couch potatoes working out together and maybe even having some fun while doing so? Yes, fitness can be fun! Besides doing exercises families could play games together such as basketball, volleyball, tag football, soccer, badminton, and even frisbee.
There is nothing like getting out in the fresh air and doing a fun family activity while creating some friendly competition. This activity can also spread beyond the immediate family as well, by getting cousins, aunts and uncles, and maybe even some neighbors involved. The more people involved may keep a better rotation of having significant participants if some are unavailable on certain occasions.
The main thing is to make 2014 a better year for fitness for the whole family instead of going at it alone, which often does not work out for many. Sedentary life has been an overwhelming factor for too many in our high tech savvy drive-thru society. So recruit fitness members and schedule activities to live a healthier and happier new year.
