Family Fun Day every Sunday at Port Discovery

Every Sunday in May is Family Fun Day at Port Discovery. Come every Sunday for fun and engaging story times and music programs including Mother Goose on the Loose, Jingle Jangle Music Time, the Percussion Garden, and more!

Music in Nature Series at Robinson Nature Center

When: Saturday, May 24 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Where: Robinson Nature Center

What: Kids and their families will explore nature through artistic expression and music. Each 45-min session is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 30 children. The Music in Nature Series at Robinson Nature Center is made possible by the Howard County Arts Council through a grant from Howard County Government.

Curious George: Let's Get Curious

When: Opens, Saturday, May 17

What: Get up close with the most curious little monkey, Curious George, and engage in math, science, and engineering activities modeled after his own adventures in this new hands-one exhibit. Curious George: Let's Get Curious is locally sponsored by M&T Bank logo.

Asian Pacific Heritage Day

When: Saturday, May 24
What: Come join us for a day that celebrates Japanese culture! Join the Kawasaki Sister City Committee for family activities; make a Japanese folding fan (Sensu); and enjoy a performance by the Misako Ballet!

The Art of Sesame Street: From Pictures to Pages

What: Explore this new art exhibition that highlights over 40 years of illustrations that depict the characters you know and love from Sesame Street. Plus, enjoy special story times, a puppet play area, and themed craft activities.

Port Discovery is open:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Sunday: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.
  • The Museum is closed on Mondays through May 25th and will be closed on Wednesday, May 21st for our fundraiser, Play It Forward.
  • Summer hours begin Monday, May 26th.
  • During summer hours, Port Discovery will be open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Sundays.
