Family dog stares at the walls behind bars after being surrendered

Update 6/11/14: Godiva has been adopted!!!

Desperate dogs of Long Island FB Page

Seven-year-old "Godiva," a retriever/corgi mix, does not know why her home, and her family disappeared. The beautiful, albeit depressed, dog has no idea why she was sent away to spend her days alone, behind bars.

Godiva's family cited "allergies" as the reason for her surrender to a high-kill animal control facility. Godiva beat the odds at that facility and walked out alive, but after being rescued, her foster situation changed and she was sent to a boarding facility in Long Island, N.Y., where again, she waits behind bars, staring at the walls.

Gone are Godiva's people...her familiar bed, her toys, and her favorite smells. All that remains is a kennel run and confining walls.

Godiva wants to go home - please take a moment to network her information to help make that possible.
