Family dog dies after child allegedly injects it with air
A syringe was used to inject the Labrador mix with air.

A family dog is dead and a 12-year-old Pennsylvania boy is allegedly responsible.

The boy's family reported the incident to police on Monday. He is accused of killing the dog by injecting air into the Labrador mix's bloodstream, through syringes stolen from a neighbor, which can cause heart attack or stroke-like symptoms.

The dog became ill and died a week later.

Police say the boy, whose identity is being withheld due to his age, was allegedly aware of what could happen due to his actions.

The investigation is continuing, but charges of theft and cruelty to animals are expected to be filed against him in Crawford County Juvenile Court.
