A Lewis County, Wash. couple are devastated after police told them the heartbreaking news on Monday that their missing dog had been found decapitated on the railroad tracks and then set on fire.
According to KOMOTV.com, Tim Filer and Michelle Nelson had been looking for their dog named Crom for nearly three weeks. The Doberman, Labrador retriever, pit bull mix had taken off chasing a cat.
A few weeks ago, firemen had discovered the dog's torso wrapped in a brown and white striped sweater. The dog had been set on fire. When authorities found the dog's head, the collar with identification tags were still around his neck.
Lewis County Police contend the dog was not decapitated from a train.
No one knows why anyone could have been so cruel as to kill an extremely friendly and loving dog as Crom. His owners are devastated.
