The Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles will be hosting their Family Culture Day on January 22, 2012. Families from St. Louis, St. Charles and surrounding areas are invited to attend this exciting event, which gives insight into the music, food and other elements of the Hispanic culture, while providing entertainment for the whole family.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of 2010, over 11,000 people in St. Louis and over 10,000 people in St. Charles, identified themselves as Hispanic of Latino. With such a growing population of Hispanic families in our area, the Family Culture Day is a great opportunity for people of all ethnicities to learn more about the Hispanic culture.
The Family Culture Day will include musical performances by Sambabom and dance performances by Venezuala Dance Group. Latino artists will display their wares, the St. Charles County Library will feature some Spanish/English books and there will be activities for kids as well.
The Family Culture Day festival at the Foundry Art Centre runs from noon until 4:00 p.m. and admission is free.
