Disappointing news strikes N.J yesterday as Live Nation has announced that Lady Gaga & Kayne West’s “Fame Kills” tour is canceled. The tour was to be one of the most anticipated shows of the 2009-2010 concert season. Although no reason has been given officially by Live Nation, rumors are circulating at a frenzied pace.  Rumors that Lady Gaga no longer wanted to be a part of this tour due to Kayne’s negative publicity at the Video Music Awards. The rumor seems like a far cry from the truth, as the tour was not officially announced until the middle of September several weeks after the VMA incident involving Kayne West and Taylor Swift.  Neither artist has commeted on the rumors.

The cancelation comes at a strange time. Just last week Lady Gaga was quoted just on Las Vegas radio station KLUC and San Diego's Star 94. "We did not do this tour for each other," she added. "We did this tour for everybody else. We wanted to do something that no one has ever seen. We wanted our fans to feel like we were doing something special and we wanted to merge two groups of fans — two different [groups of] music lovers into one room. He's going to play every Kanye West hit, which is a lot, one after the other. I'm going to play all my hit records, which, knock on wood, I had a lot this year. And then I'm going to play all my new music and then do a ton of duets." The news of the cancelation comes as a shock to both musicians’ fans; will we ever see Kayne & Gaga on stage together? Who knows? Fans will have to wait patiently as these stars may someday find there way back to the stage together. Lady Gaga has stated that this is not the last chance to see her on a world tour. She was quoted saying "When I come back from my world tour, (Referring to the now canceled, “Fame Kills”) I'm doing another world tour after this, which is going to be in March of next year." Although March is several months a way and Kayne will not be there, it’s a small price to pay to see the hit making star in action.
