If you are a mariachi aficionado, it will all come together for you on Thursday evening, October 3rd, beginning at 5:30 PM. That is when the Rosarito Beach Hotel will be inducting two giants of the genre into Baja California's Superstars of Mexican Music Salon de Fama (Hall of Fame) located in the Salon Chabert. After the ceremony and Rueda de Prensa (Press Conference) honoring Ruben Fuentes and Pepe Martinez, Sr. of el mejor del mundo, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, everyone will move to the adjacent Salon Quixote for the two-hour 'Botanas y Bebidas con las Estrellas' (Appetizers and Beverages with the Stars) reception.
There, in collaboration with the hotel and the region's best restaurants/wineries, everyone will get to meet, greet, chat, eat, drink, & be photographed with some of the most accomplished mariachi on the planet: the members of Vargas AND the Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas. Since ALL of the food/drink is being donated by the co-hosts, 100% of the funds raised from this event (not just the profits) will go directly to the benefit of the Club de Ninos y Ninas Seccion Rosarito. One of the city's best professional photographers, Photovarna, will also be on hand to capture that very special one-moment-in-time memento for the attendees.
Restaurants already committed to participating in this altruistic event are: Azteca, El Nido, La Guerita, Pancake Republic, and Susanna's. Also on board are Don Juan, the famous artisanal cheese maker from the Ruta de Queso, and the acclaimed winery from the Valle de Guadalupe, L.A. Cetto.
Everything...the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, the reception with the stars, the best comestibles/beverages of the region, & the commemorative photo...will cost just $25 per person. ALL of that amount will be donated directly to the Boys and Girls Club of Rosarito.
