Mod Description:
Allows you to have as many companions as you want. Will work with all vanilla companions and any non-vanilla companions that are added using vanilla variables (probably will be most of them).
With Fallout: New Vegas, just like Fallout 3, up to two companions can make up your group at any time. Only there is a restriction on who could be in your party as you trekked the Wasteland. You can only have one human companion and one non-human companion (usually a dog or a robot of some sort). So for instance in Fallout: New Vegas, you can either have ED-E or Rex in your party, along with say, the gruff talking Clint Eastwood-esque sniper, Boone.
Unlimited Companions removes this restriction (though Rex and ED-E can't be in the same party), which was a bonus for me, but obviously still lets you have as many companions as you want. To keep things balanced on my side, I didn't hire every companion in the game, but only chose three that would compliment my character. So in this regard, I had Boone along with my character, sniping, Cass taking the mid-range shotgun route, and Veronica kicking all kinds of Wasteland behind with her incredible in-your-face punching skills.
I know it might seem overpowered, but it just makes more sense giving the player some more options in companion choosing because I honestly felt that the companions in Fallout: New Vegas offer a lot more to the table than the ones in Fallout 3 (though Charon was awesome with his surgical shotgun precision). I couldn't have just two because each party member you find in the Mojave has their own unique personality that makes you want to invest some time getting to know each one.
I mostly downloaded the mod to remove the companion restrictions and strengthen my character's weaknesses, but for players who want an army at their disposal, the option is there as well.
Unlimited Companions is currently ranked 28th on the top 100 most endorsed files list with 109 endorsements in total on the Fallout: New Vegas Nexus.
