On Saturday February 18th, Chisora succumbed to defeat against Vitali Klitschko via 12 round decision. However, that wasn't the end of Chisora's fighting for the night. In a post-fight press conference, Chisora got into a brawl with fellow British heavyweight boxer David Haye with the entire mêlée being caught on video. Chisora was taken into custody by the local German authorities. Haye hopped on the first flight out of the country. According to a Sunday February 19th report by The Daily Telegraph, Haye's manager Adam Booth made the following comments about the brawl:
"We left the press conference, and it would have been stupid to go back to the same hotel as Chisora and his mob. He had said he was going to assault David, and then screamed he was going to shoot him and burn him. We decided to go to the airport and get an early flight home."
Haye was also sought by the local German authorities. However, he left before being questioned. Chisora was released by German authorities after being questioned and it appears that no charges will be filed. Chisora has since apologized for his actions but is facing the possibility of losing his boxing license in his homeland of Great Britain. The brawl has left an ugly mark on British boxing and has upset many of Chisora's fellow countrymen and supporters.
