Five years ago this week, Bethesda first introduced Fallout 3 to gamers with the release of their first venture into the post-apocalyptic series. On a post from the official Bethesda blog on Oct 28, the developer wants fans to join in on the game’s anniversary celebration by sharing their favorite Fallout 3 memories with Bethesda Game Studio’s official Twitter account.
Fallout 3 was the first game of the series that was created by Bethesda after acquiring rights to the franchise. The development of Bethesda’s follow up, Fallout: New Vegas, was handed over to Obsidian Entertainment.
Taking place in the nation’s capital, Fallout 3 placed gamers in a world ravaged by nuclear war where the former great societies have collapsed and bandits and mutated terrors roam the post-apocalyptic wastes. Meanwhile, numerous survivor factions are still vying for control of the country. Many fans of the franchise are anxiously awaiting the next Fallout title which Bethesda has yet to announce at this time.
