Fallon Fox is undefeated in women’s Mixed Martial Arts. However, she only has two professional fights, and her opponents have a losing record. Then, why is she getting a lot of attention from the Mixed Martial Arts community? MMA fans are talking about Fox because she is a transgender fighter, and people are debating whether or not it is fair to allow Fox to compete against women. Some believe that allowing Fox to compete against women could hurt women’s MMA.
On February 23, 2013, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, just a few minutes from the Inland Empire, UFC Champion Ronda Rousey fought Liz Carmouche in the first women’s fight in UFC history. The fight was a big stepping stone for women’s MMA, but Fox’s next opponent Allana Jones believes that Fox’s fights against women could hurt women’s MMA.
Jones says, “[Women’s MMA] is just making a name for itself, and this will have a negative impact on it.”
Fox’s last fight took place on March 2, 2013 in Coral Gables, Florida. Fox knocked out her opponent in 39 seconds of the first round. The video of the fight is available online.
