Falling through the "quacks"!

Noka, being very overweight, had saved up enough money for that long awaited operation. She was so excited about the appointment with her doctor, and told her friends. When one of them knew of the doctor she already planned to see, she warned her not to go. But Noka told her friend, "I feel he's a very good doctor, because he has his own office down the street from the house, and is independent and very smart." Weeks later, Noka was experiencing complications from the liposuction surgery, and later died. After finding out this "so-called" doctor had no medical license, her parents sued him.

Sadly, there's the "self-righteous, self-proclaimed" person who feels that picking up a book and reading about something, makes him fit for "public service." There are people like this, in many circles. And most importantly, take a good look at the one who believes that salvation is as simple as picking up a Bible and reading certain scriptures. If everyone could read a Bible and go "solo," there'd be no need for "God-appointed" preachers and teachers. And not just these, in the literal sense, but those who were actually inspired, authorized, taught, had experience, and called by the indwelling Living God to handle his word in instructing others. For the Lord uses these "mouthpieces," to lead others to the "water" and his Spirit. From that point, it's instruction in holiness.

Imagine a person arguing with another over a verse of scripture, concerning "faith." The other person, who "knows God," just listens, knowing that this individual is clueless as to what true salvation really is." This same person, believing "it doesn't take all that," is also misleading others, teaching that the baptism in Jesus' name isn't necessary, along with teaching against the initial evidence of the Holy Ghost, among other things. Everyone only obtains salvation, acting on God's terms, and not by one's own personal feelings and self-righteous imagination.

The Word of God is dangerous to deal with, and is to be handled only by those who are "spiritually" qualified and experienced enough to apply the doctrine effectively. That is, touching the souls of the unbeliever (and edifying the believer), towards their accepting the true salvation. Don't be the one to face a rude-awakening that'll cost you and your followers eternal life... all because of being an ungodly "quack" who failed to realize that mishandling the Word of God is also indicative of being a "false prophet." Just as it's important to see the right doctor, the same also applies in getting the correct spiritual advice that leads to not only benefiting others, but also saving your own soul.
