Getting out of the Espheni Ghetto was just the first step for the 2nd Mass fighters held captive there. Now, it's time to reunite the entire group, and that's the goal in next week's "Falling Skies," episode 404, "Evolve or Die," for which TNT released a new sneak preview on Sunday, July 6.
The latest episode of "Falling Skies," "Exodus," did see the 2nd Mass successfully escape the Espheni Ghetto, but as they gathered in celebration, Weaver noticed something in the darkness, and the new promo may very well reveal what (or should we be using a different word?) that is. Meanwhile, Matt took the blame after Mira stole wire cutters for her poor attempt at an escape plan, and that meant his training was going to become "more unpleasant." Finally, after a very weird dream/flashback involving Karen and an Espheni, Anne found Lexi – and knew who she was without Ben having to tell her – and the road warriors and Chinatown group were reunited.
Now, in this next episode, following their breakout from the Espheni Ghetto, Tom and the 2nd Mass seek refuge in a Volm hideout, where tensions run high between the Volm and humans. Cochise had told Tom that if they could escape the Ghetto, he knew where they could get supplies and food, so at least the 2nd Mass should have that going for them.
When Tom goes with Cochise and Weaver to find Matt, Hal is left in charge. We've already seen Hal taking on more of a leadership role, especially when Tom was locked up in solitary. With the group in a Volm hideout, could this be when we meet the Volm Drew Roy described as "sort of…[Hal's] own Cochise," Shaq? Roy told us, "We don't really get along too well, but things go on, and we sort of begin to trust each other a bit more. Things get better."
The "Evolve or Die" promo teases, "The road is filled with enemies but the greatest threat is closer to home." Those on the road are going to be encountering something in the woods, which we assume is likely the same thing – or person/former person? – Weaver saw at the end of the last episode. But is that something Jeanne? Has she perhaps been through the "process" they've been teasing? Meanwhile, Pope meets Mira Sorvino's Sara, and it looks like they should get along just fine considering she greets him by shooting at him. Finally, Lexi gets upset, and we've seen what happens then. But what does the Espheni's "she'll be ours" mean?
"Falling Skies" season 4 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on TNT. What do you think of the episode 4 "Evolve or Die" preview?
