First Fleet Concerts, Big Red Dog Music, and Maximum Ames Records have all made big announcements in the past 24 hours. From new concerts to moving concerts, from CD pre-orders to festival announcements, here are some things that you may have missed.
First Fleet Concerts announced today that Las Vegas hardcore band Falling in Reverse will play Wooly's in Des Moines' East Village on Monday, May 13 at 7 p.m. American Fang will open the all ages show. Tickets will be $18, and they will go on sale Friday, March 22 at 10 a.m. They may be purchased at the Wooly's box office and online through Ticketfly.
Speaking of Wooly's, would you like to win free tickets to the venue for a whole year? The venue announced today that you can enter their March Madness Bracket Tournament to win free tickets to Wooly's events for a full year starting on April 9. Click here to fill out your bracket. Maximum Ames Records announced today that H.D. Harmsen's first solo release, entitled Papoose, is now available for pre-order. (The official release date for the album is April 30.) A limited number of pre-orders will come with a 7" split featuring Harmsen's "Tarzan" and Mumford's "Cleft Lip". Go to the Maximum Ames website for more details.
Maximum Ames Records also announced today that the label will be the official merch outlet for Mission Creek, the annual Iowa City music and literature festival. Maximum Ames artists Gloom Balloon, Mumford’s, Trouble Lights, and Christopher the Conquered will all be performing at this year's festival.
Big Red Dog Music announced today that their March 29 event featuring the Kilborn Alley Blues Band has been moved from Gas Lamp to Star Bar due to a double-booking error by Gas Lamp. The show will have no cover and will start at 9 p.m.
The Kilborn Alley announcement comes on the heels of Big Red Dog signing a large number of new shows in recent days. BRDM has added all of the following shows just recently:
