Fall winter 2012 trend: geometric with pops of color

An elegant and fun minimalist look is to incorporate geometric elements into your fashionable wardrobe. To modernize this style, pops of fun colors easily up the 'it' factor. This look pairs well with colorblocking and asymmetric hemlines. This look can adapt easily, so try it as you prepare for a night out on the Downtown Mall here in Charlottesville.

The geometric trend, and brights incorporation into this trend, go hand and hand with the minimalism that was prevalent on all the Fall 2012 runways. One can find inspiration from Calvin Klein Collection, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, and Pedro Lourenço shows from the season. Take the classic "le smoking" and elevate it to an entirely new level with a collar necklace that carries a Bauhaus structure to it. Consider how a cuff bracelet or ring with any kind of right angle on it can be a conversation piece. Consider how lines of bright neon tubing have been influencing jewelry as well!

Bring on the bright element with any sort of color pop (for example, tights). Any bright garment or accessory could create a fun contrast to a neutral. A blazer in a bright pink with a dramatic lapel would provide the geometric touch the runways influenced. A color-blocked peplum top could do the same. A fun clutch with traced neon lines can become a conversation starter. Some brands even seemed to incorporate tessellation into their fabrics. Make the look your own - whether it is subtly or in a bold look.
