Believe it or not, fall themed beers are starting to hit the shelves. The season is changing, and with it, is Anchor Brewing.
I had a chance to sample Anchor's newest offering, and came away impressed. While I love hop bombs and strong stouts, there is something about drinking an extremely well balanced ale that captures the craft of brewing.
Anchor's red ale did just that. The 6% beer tasted of malt, hops, and of course the slight maple syrup taste. There's nothing crazy about this beer, but great ingredients and brewing make the beer a pleasure to drink.
As a big fan of seasonal beers, I thoroughly enjoyed my BigLeaf Maple. It would be a great beer to have with Thanksgiving dinner.
BigLeaf Maple Autumn Red will be available August through October in bottles and on draught. I'd suggest buying a six pack now, and saving it for Turkey day.
