Want your kids to try something new this school year? Meet a new challenge, learn something new, or meet new people? You can find all these things and more by trying a new sport this fall.
The Community Life Center in Greenwood is currently registering for fall youth volleyball and youth soccer. No previous experience necessary, the CLC offers an open recreational league to all boys and girls in the community.
The Community Life Center is an affiliate of the Mount Pleasant Christian Church. Membership to the CLC is available, but not a requirement for participation in their recreational youth sports leagues.
Youth soccer is available for boys and girls from Pre-K to under 17 age groups. Registration fees are $60 for Pre-K to second grade, $65 for third grade to under 17. Evaluations take place for all age groups above Kindergarten and will be held Saturday August 14. Evaluations are held as a skills assessment only. No try-outs are required.
Youth volleyball is also available for boys and girls in third through eighth grades. Registration fees are $55, with a $5 discount for those who register before August 22.
As a Christian community league, each participant should expect an age-appropriate devotional in addition to learning the fundamentals of their chosen sport.
A great way to start the new school year, the CLC sports leagues are open to all youth interested in participating. With a focus on sportsmanship, education, and team work, trying a new sport can be just what your child needs to start the school year off right!
