As fall sport opportunities abound for the able bodied kids, the kids with special needs can begin their soccer season. Sports Are For Everyone (SAFE) begins its soccer season on September 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Clifton Commons, next to the Senior Center in Clifton Park, New York. Weather permitting, soccer will take place each Saturday until October 19, 2013, when the season ends with a pizza party.
Your child has a choice of three skill levels to meet his or her personal skill set. The simplest level uses small goals without goalies. The intermediate and older group use larger goals, goalies and larger play areas. Each child receives a SAFE t-shirt.
The fee to play is $50 per player, but if payment is a problem, let SAFE know. SAFE allows everyone to play at whatever level he or she can. Children five years and older are welcomed to participate.
Learning soccer skills is only one of the benefits of the SAFE programs. The sports program provides the opportunities to be outside in the fall, to exercise, to socialize and to build friendships.
