The Maxwell C. King Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors in 1988. Since that time, it has consistently offered top quality art and live entertainment for Space Coast residents. On a limited budget, the Center seeks unique productions for the diverse interests of local residents. This fall, there are many shows to choose from including:

On Thursday, Oct 3, the national tour of America's Got Talent, NBC’s #1-rated hit TV show. For eight years running, “America’s Got Talent®” has captivated viewers with its own unique blend of incredible talent and one-of-a-kind performances. With a lineup led by the show’s brand-new Million Dollar Winner, the“America’s Got Talent Live™” stage show showcases many of the performers who received millions of votes from viewers across the country. Showtime is 8 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 3, the King Center will present the So You Think You Can Dance Tour 2013. This eleven-time Primetime Emmy® Award winning show triggered America’s fascination with dance. Now it it's tenth season, So You Think You Can Dance’s Top 10 finalists are touring across North America and will be here on Nov. 3. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Comedian David Spade will visit Melbourne on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. David has been nominated for a 1999 Emmy Award, an American Comedy Award in 1999, and a Golden Globe in 2000. but he is best known for his five-year stint as a cast member of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.” Spade has done much work in television and film and continues to perform standup comedy in theaters and colleges across the country.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the King Center will present Menopause The Musical®. This musical parody is set to music from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. The story revolves around four women at a lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra and memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and more!
On Saturday, Oct. 5 the Brevard Symphony Orchestra [BSO] will present Cirque de la Symphonie in concert. Cirque performers will thrill the audience in a show created for the BSO’s 60th Anniversary Celebration. Musical highlights include a performance of the Overture to The Mikado, the very first piece played by the BSO 60 years ago, along with music by Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Dvorak, Williams, Shostakovich and many more. There will be two shows, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
On Friday, October 18, the band Chicago will have the audience dancing in the aisles as they perform many of their award-winning songs. One of the best loved and most successful U.S. groups in rock history, Chicago has sold more than 122 million records, scoring 21 Top 10 singles and five consecutive #1 albums throughout its remarkable career. To date, Chicago is the first American band to chart Top 40 albums in five decades - a landmark accomplishment. The been the recipients of multiple Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The show begins at 8 p.m.
The Berenstain Bears will arrive at the King Center on Thursday, Oct. 3. The show, which begins at 10:30 a.m., will feature the beloved Berenstain Bear family: Mama, Papa, Brother and Sister. The show promises lots of fun and music, enough to hold the attention of children in Pre-K to third grade.
Sesame Street Live! will perform two shows on Tuesday, Oct 8. The show's producers have provided a sneak peek at what children can expect: " When Elmo casts a spell with Abby Cadabby’s magic wand, there’s something in the air - and Sesame Street becomes a nonstop, all-singing, all-dancing musical montage! What will children learn about the power of musical magic? Join the conga line of fun to find out! "
This show also offers a " Sunny Seats " package which includes premium show seating, pre-show photo opportunities, music, play, and a pre-show Meet & Greet photo opportunity with two Sesame Street Live friends, including Elmo! There are two shows: 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
