As the temperatures fall, the window to book discounted resort rooms or even free dining plans at Walt Disney World Resort is coming to a close.
The popular Free Dining offer, which is the subject of countless travel forum threads throughout the year, ends on September 15th. With this offer, guests can add a free Disney Dining Plan to their resort/theme park ticket package for selected dates through December 22, 2013.
The Disney Dining Plan offers each guest (3 years old and up) a table-service meal, a counter-service meal, and a single-serve snack item, plus a refillable mug good for use at their resort, for each night of stay. Meal credits can be used in any combination for added flexibility during your vacation.
The Value Resorts, including Disney's All-Star Resorts, Disney's Pop Century Resort, and Disney's Art of Animation Resorts, offer a free counter-service dining plan, which includes two counter-service meals in place of the counter-service/table-service combination. (Click here for an explanation of resort categories.)
Is a Dining Plan right for you? Some might say that if it's free, it's free. But check the discounted resort rooms mentioned below. If you are not doing a lot of character meals, or if you are visiting during Epcot's Food & Wine Festival and eating a lot of small tapas portions from around the World Showcase, you might not get much value out of a Dining Plan. Instead of paying a non-discounted rate for a resort room, consider going with one of the room-only discounts below.
Fall discounts on Resort Rooms begin to end on September 15th, for travel most nights from September 29th through November 9th, 2013. This includes 20-30% off rates at a variety of Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, and 15% off at Value Resorts.
The remainder of Resort Room discounts (through December 23, 2013) is available to book through November 3rd, 2013.
Different categories have different availability, so check online or through your travel agent to determine which rooms offer the best value for you. And really explore the different resorts that are part of this promotion, along with flexible dates of travel, to find great rates. You might find yourself staying at a Deluxe Resort for not much more than might at Moderate Resort, in certain situations.
No matter which promotion you choose, you'll be able to take advantage of all the fall and holiday seasons at Walt Disney World have to offer, including Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, Holidays Around the World, and more.
