This weeks' challenge is super easy. Pick a playdough recipe and make it together. Here is my favorite one compliments of ooeygooey.com:
The best coffee playdough ever:
What you'll need:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 ½ cups salt
- 6 TBS oil
- 6 tsp cream of tartar
- 3 cups water
- the used wet grounds from the morning coffee
What you'll do
- Mix ingredients
- Cook over medium heat until a ball forms
- Remove from heat and knead!
Here at A Sunny Place Learning Center, we use a lot of playdough recipes, and this is the #1 favorite for our students. You can find more great recipes at ooeygooey.com.
Lisa Murphy, the Ooey Gooey Lady, is a wonderful resource for parents, caregivers, and teachers. I had the chance to catch her in Portland, and she reaffirmed my beliefe that manipulative play and exploration is the most important gift we can give our children. If we give them that, everything else is easy peasy lemon squeezy.
I look forward to seeing pictures of fun times!
