A Daily Word from the Word for Thursday, February 6, 2014
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” - John 3:14-16
This message serves as the conclusion to yesterday’s article, brought to you by Zalihta Pegeese.
As previously discussed, it is dangerous for you and the other person you are confessing to be “in love” with, to put each other on that pedestal. This could form an unhealthy soul tie because of the declaration you made of being in love. A soul tie is a spiritual connection between two people who have been physically intimate or have had an intense emotional relationship. How many times have you heard about a love triangle that ended in a fatality? Or have you or someone you knew keyed a car, or flattened someone’s tire because of their unfaithfulness to you? Or how many do you know have gotten into serious cat fights over a guy or girl? This is not the love of Christ. It is that very confession of being “in love” that could have opened the door for the enemy to set you up for disappointment, and failure in your relationships because the devil knows where we are to place that type of love to and in: Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior!
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV).
Christ, not your mate, chose to die for you on a cross. We should be “in Christ,” therefore, we should be “in love” with Christ and not the other person. Your significant other cannot love you like Christ loves you. People place conditions on love; but Christ loves you with an unconditional love. The moment one finds something better or more satisfying, then their love is given to another person, but our Savior loves you with an everlasting, eternal love. Jeremiah 31:3 woos us as it sings “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”
It is that bridal call that cries out: “Lord I cannot live or function without or apart from You!” How many times have you said to your mate that you cannot live without him or her, but the moment something goes wrong, you are ready to leave or give up on being in love? The bridal call causes you to completely abandon your heart to Christ for His love. It is the choice to allow Christ to circumcise your heart and cut out the sin and deception so He can then take up residence in this place made and reserved only for Him. You will then love Him more than anyone or anything else because you have now become hidden in Him.
Once you have fallen in love with Christ and sold out for Him, He then produces miracles, and fights for you to the fullest. The Lord will cleanse your heart from the filth of this world and bring you into a place of submission and holiness, which then cause your prayers to be much more powerful and effective. “The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous person availeth much” (James 5:16 KJV). The heart which you are praying from will be different than those who are not in a bridal position with Christ. The prayers of those outside of Christ’s wedding chamber will not be as effective or powerful as the one who enters in to a bridal position, because their heart is not completely healed.
“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy”(1 Peter 1:13-16 KJV).
Believe me when I say, once you surrender your heart to the Lord, and upon asking, He will choose a mate for you because He knows you better than you know yourself. Submit your will to His Will for your life. Once I did that, God was faithful to send me a perfect mate.
God will send to you a person who loves Him at the same level as you love Him. That mate He chooses for you will be a gift from Him. But we are not to treat that gift as an idol. We are to love and take care of those things God gives us, but never should that thing or person become higher than God.
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4 KJV).
I know some of you are saying, "Sister Zalihta you are trippin! They are just words." But my sister and brother, the devil wants us to believe they are just words, because Satan knows the power behind our words and confessions. The Bible says in Matthew 12: 36 (ESV) “I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every carless word they speak.” Also, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits” (Proverbs 18:21 ESV).
If they are just words, then why are people hurting those they are “in love” with, or leaving that one they claimed to be “in love” with? Or some have even killed over so-called being “in love.”
Christ is calling you to put Him higher in your heart, language, thoughts, and actions. Christ will never leave you nor forsake you. Fall in love with Him today because His love for you, demonstrated on the Cross, makes it the greatest love story ever told.
Lord, we thank You for your unconditional and everlasting love. We call to You to bathe us in Your amazing, life-changing, and eternally-secure love. Help us, Holy Father, to find our love, our very being, in You. We turn our hearts to you, Oh God, because our hearts beat in sync with Your precious heart. Anoint our hearts with your heart, and fill us to overflowing with your Divine Love. In Jesus Name, we thank You that we are at rest in Your amazing love. Amen and Amen.
Take action! Challenge your thinking! I strongly encourage you to read and re-read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. It is important to wash and transform your mind from what the world says love is, to what God says about love. Keep reading this Scripture until you get the revelation truth of His love for you and how we should love others. And continue to fight the good fight of being in love with the Savior; for God, your Love of a lifetime, has already given you the victory!
If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, I encourage you to do it today, right now, by saying this prayer out loud: “Jesus, forgive me for my sins. I am sorry. I truly desire to be saved and reconciled back to God, my Father, through You. I receive Your sinless Blood as payment in full for my sins—past, present, and future. I now call You my Lord and Savior, and invite You to live within my heart, and to permanently live within me. I make You Lord over me and over my life from this moment on. Amen.” Congratulations! You are now a child of God, made whole and made new, by the Blood of Jesus Christ!
