Fall in Love with Burlesque This Valentine's Day

This Valentine's Day, there is no excuse to stay home and sulk. Whether you are happy in love or hate the whole concept of this particular holiday, the ladies behind Naptown's burlesque scene are not content to let you waste the night away. No matter what side of town you are on, or what you are in the mood for, you have many choices when making your holiday plans this coming Tuesday night.

On Indy's northside, Jenee Michelle and her Pur The Company burlesque troupe will host pop singer Lynda Sayyah in in free show at Room 929 on Westfield Boulevard starting at 9 pm.

The ladies of Cremme de les Femmes return to action on Valentine's Day with a Broad Ripple perfomance at the Casba. In VOCAB! A Thin Line, the burlesque will begin after an open mic night and an accoustic performance by Jenny Pennycuff, who takes the stage at 8 pm. A $5 cover gets you a wide variety of entertainment at one of Indy's most unique venues.

Angel Burlesque is part of what will no doubt be a great Valentines Day celebration at White Rabbit Caberet, and is pleased to host "America's premier burlesque comic" in Getting Lucky with Lucky Deluxe. This show will feature performers from Angel Burlesque and the Rocket Doll Revue. $10 tickets at the door, show begins at 8 pm.

In addition to these three shows all taking place on Valentine's Day, next week offers yet another way to get your burlesque fix. For those looking to get out of town next Friday night, when the restaurants will still be serving belated Valentines Day dinners, take a trip up to Lafayette to visit our new burlesque friends Minsky Kinks in their show, Loved and Hated, at the brand new venue, Adelino's Ballroom, for Secret Rendev2ous. Beginning at 8 pm, this show offers burlesque and vaudeville performers in styles both vintage and modern. Tickets are $10 for guests 18-20, $15 for those over 21 who get a free drink with their ticket purchase.

See? There is zero reason to sit home feeling negative about Valentine's Day. Whether you are single, crazy with brand-new love, or content with your long-time hunny, there is something for everyone on stages all across Indianapolis. Venture out to be a part of the fun!
