It's just a few days before 'The Great Pumpkin' has a dedicated all-day marathon and certainly not long before you'll be donating sugary sweets to little ghouls and goblins. But yet you look outside and shiver just watching the leaves collapse onto your freshly raked lawn.
Is this it? Are the nice days all gone? Where's the SNOW!?
If you haven't bought your winter coat yet, there's still time. This frigid spell that's dusted snow across the Appalachians and surprised even those clear down in York with freeze-warnings is all due to some high pressure parked just above us. As the first week of November sets in, the high pressure will recede and we'll stabilize more toward our average temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Snow is another sore topic for many weather-geeks like myself. We've already started speculating the first snowfall date on a popular forum. I don't expect the first true snow to fall and stick until right around December 5th (Near our average first snowfall date)
The Halloween Forecast:
You may not have to button your little ones up too tightly this year. I know I always hated being 'fat superman' with my jacket on underneath my cape. While I'm not ruling out a few light sprinkles I'd say you're looking at a great night for it.
Preliminary Forecast for PrimeTime: 5-8PM on October 31st, 2013: 47-50 degrees
