Local Loans for Local Food has announced their Fall Gathering is to be held on Sunday, October 27, at the Peterloon Estate, 8605 Hopewell Road, in Montgomery. According to their website, "Local Loans for Local Foods is a Slow Money peer-to-peer lending network, whose purpose is to connect people who have capital available to lend, with local food enterprises that have need for low‐interest loans. We embrace the importance of keeping our dollars local and supporting the production and distribution of local, healthy food in the process."
Between 3 PM and PM on October 27, the discussion will include those who made and received loans in 2013, and those who seek to lend or receive in 2014. Farmers and artisans are encouraged to bring information and samples of whatever it is they offer, and Chef Mark Stroud will be making hors d’oeuvres for those in attendance.
