With Labor Day approaching, summer is about to come to an end. While New Yorkers may start to miss their beach fun, there's plenty of fun to enjoy in the fall in NYC. Here's a (very) small sampling of what the Big Apple has to offer us over the next few months:
The New York Film Festival: From September 26-October 12, you can get a chance to view highly anticipated movies, like David Fincher's Gone Girl. Tickets go on sale September 7 at 12pm, so make sure you check out the schedule and buy your tickets early.
Athletic Events: New York has some of the best sports teams in the country. All of your favorite teams will be back in action in the fall. Baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, football...take your pick and go spend a day at the stadium with friends.
Fashion Week: Tickets to these events, which run from September 4-September 11, are highly coveted. Designers like Rebecca Minkoff, Tory Burch and Donna Karan will be showing off the very best of their collections. If you can snag a ticket, you're one of the lucky ones. If not, why not go check out Lincoln Center and see how many celebs you can spot.
Museums & Broadway Shows: Why not visit one of the city's museums and get enlightened about art or history? If you're looking for something that requires less walking and more live entertainment, there's always Broadway. Aladdin has been earning rave reviews and The Book of Mormon is a fan favorite.
NYC Food & Wine Festival: If you're a foodie or just love a good time, make an effort to go to one of the events at this festival. You can go eat burgers at an event hosted by Rachael Ray or spend all day at the Grand Tasting with the likes of Masaharu Morimoto, Tyler Florence and Paula Deen. Events may be pricey, but it's for a good cause.
So, don't be sad that the summer is coming to an end. There's plenty to occupy your time this fall. Make the most out of it and then you can start counting down the days until next summer.
