Fall foliage & leaf peeping in southern Colorado - part 3 - adventurous views

Take in the City View from a Hot Air Balloon

Those who seek adventure often find themselves in the Pikes Peak region, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, rolling plains, nearby Arkansas River and a huge array of outdoor recreation opportunities. Here are some really unique ways to experience the color of fall in our area.

Adventures Out West Segway Tour in Garden of the Gods

Taking in the views via adventurous modes of transportation

Ever heard of a Segway PT?  If not, no worries, a lot of people haven't. A Segway personal transportation device (PT for short) looks like something straight out of the year 2110. These two-wheeled machines can carry a person 22 miles over various terrains up to speeds of 10 miles per hour! The great thing about these tours offered by Adventures Out West, you decide where you want to take your new little motorized friend. Whether it's Garden of the Gods, The Broadmoor, Downtown Colorado Springs or Seven Falls. If you'd prefer to sit, jeep tours are also available.

If a bird's eye view is something that sounds enticing, how about taking the trip - UP? Nestle into the basket of a hot air balloon provided by Colorado Hot Air Balloon Rides and look down on the region with a whole new perspective. Another view from the top includes taking Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Mountaineer Sky Ride to the top of America's only Mountain Zoo for a perfect fenced-in overlook. This ski lift was built specifically for the zoo and remains open after hours. The ride is perfect for taking in an autumn sunset.

Whether you're flying high or zipping by, do something different this leaf peeping season.
