Fall Foliage drive through Livingston, Ky

Fall foliage driving tours can make the perfect Sunday drive or quick getaway. There’s nothing like tossing a picnic cooler in the trunk and taking off.

The photos that you see with this article were taken in Camp Wildcat near Livingston, KY.

Other than exits around Corbin and Middlesboro, KY there are not many places to eat. Visitors taking this fall foliage driving tour will want to pick up a picnic lunch to bring with them.

The drive through Livingston from Knoxville is just beautiful. One way to do it is to drive I-75 N to Livingston, KY exit #49. Follow the signs into Camp Wildcat. Tour the camp and then head back through Knoxville by traveling on Hwy. 25W.

Travelers will want to print an online map for directions on how to get directly home from Hwy. 25W. This road splits to become Hwy 25E which goes through the greater Knoxville area, into Morristown and on through Newport and beyond.

The fall foliage photos on this article were taken on October 28, 2010. It was just after a major storm blew many of the leaves from the trees. Although the colors are fading, plenty of autumn color and fall beauty remain.

If you haven’t taken a fall foliage drive yet you’ll need to hurry. It won’t be too many weeks before the colors disappear. The drives don’t have to be long to provide the stress break that you need. Even an hour or two away from  home can make a world of difference.
