The Chrysler Performance West club has been putting on the "Fling" shows for quite awhile. Photos from past events that have appeared in forums and have piqued my interest enough to check out what CPW claims is the largest Mopar show west of the Mississippi.
There are two Fling events: Spring Fling and Fall Fling. The latter has about 350 cars and 175 vendors, the former about twice that. That's mighty impressive considering this is a regional show put on by a local club. Mopar fans from Canada and even Europe come to Van Nuys, CA to see some of the better (best?) Mopars in the United States, or to find that long-elusive part.
- A 1971 Challenger coupe with the A93 package, which was a budget Challenger with less equipment and rear windows that didn't roll down; it was known as the Deputy in 1970. It was in the swap meet as a parts car.
- 1970 Challenger Western Sport Special, a regional promotion that grouped a number of options together at a very special price. This also was in the swap meet and needed a restoration.
- 1967 Dodge Coronet 500 SE 4-door sedan, which was a top-line Coronet with a fancier interior. This car had a 383-4 and those nifty mag wheelcovers.
