Fall Craft Beer Festival at the Cajun Cafe

It is that time again: the Fall Craft Beer Festival at the Cajun Cafe on the Bayou.

Saturday, November 13, 2010, 2-6pm
Admission: $35 at the Gate (includes free Souvenir Beer Glass)
Designated drivers $15
No one under 21 admitted.

A celebration of craft beer! Join owner Paul Unwin and the rest of the Cafe crew for a lovely, beer-garden atmosphere. Sample, savor and discuss the merits of some of the finest brews in the world. With over one hundred different beers available for tasting on draught and in bottles, live music from Bobby Tess and the Dixie Chaps, and a sampling of a variety of authentic Cajun food, admission includes a meal of Crawfish Cornbread, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice, and Roast Pork.

According to Paul, this year there will be even more Belgians and US Belgian style beer. Victory V12 Quadrupel will be there to taste as well, and some other interesting beers. They decided to give people a Cajun meal this year as well as offer cheese & fruit, crackers & bread to keep everyone food happy as well.

  • Ten Fidy on draught, served for an hour the infused with a Vanilla bean extract and wood chips
  • CCB Marshal Zhukovs and Good Gourd on Draught
  • Bottles of Ommegang Zuur, Triple Perfection, Witte, Rare Vos
  • La Chouffe beers
  • Hopping Frog Oatmeal Imp Stout, Silk Porter, Mean Manaleashi
  • Cascade Kriek Ale.
  • Rogue XS series Old Crustacean Barley Wine 2008
  • Rogue XS series Imperial Red Ale 2008 plus the Oregasmic Ale and the John John Ale
  • Weyerbacher Fourteen Ale
  • Golden Carolus 2009
  • Fritz Briem 1809 Berliner Weisse
  • Thornbridge Halcyon Jaipur IPA
  • Hitachino Ancient Nipponia
  • Verdi Imp Stout with hot chilis

This is a can't-miss event, and is often described by local craft beer lovers as the best beer event all year.  The weather looks to be exceptional, and the beer is always excellent.
