The rains are finally stopping and the sun will shine again. Our normal brilliant blue September skies will return in time for a Colorado autumn tradition, the road trip to the high country to see the fall colors.
Road trips are always great fun in Colorado but especially in autumn when the aspen leaves turn gold before the snow flies and we start thinking of skiing. A road trip is even better when you get free gas and on Saturday a few lucky drivers stopped at the Conoco on South University Boulevard to gas up and clean their windshields before their drive to the mountains and guess what happened?
They found one of the LUCKY SQUEEGEES and got FREE GAS! Fifty lucky drivers also got goody bags along with their Conoco gas cards that ranged in value from $5 to $50.
It was a good morning to make certain that your windshield was clean because when the squeegee began to buzz and flash it signaled that you were one of the lucky winners. While there were no balloons, confetti or marching bands as in the Conoco commercials, drivers were nonetheless surprised by this unexpected occurrence. But after the initial shock wore off and they were informed about the giveaway they were eager to take their cards in and find out how much they’d won.
I doubt if the lucky squeegee promotion is over yet so the next time you stop for gas make certain that you clean your windshield before you head up to the mountains and Conoco might just pick up the tab on your fall colors drive.
