Fall campaign season kicks off!

The fall campaign season is kicking off Thursday night, August 30th, with a Republican National Convention watching party in Williamson County's Precinct One. The Williamson County Republican Party will host a party to watch Governor Romney's acceptance speech at Waterloo Ice House, located in the shopping center at the corner of Parmer Lane and Avery Ranch Boulevard, in the Austin part of the county. The event begins at 6 p.m. and appetizers will be served plus guests can purchase beverages and additional food, if desired. A number of elected officials are expected to attend, including me and Cedar Park Mayor Pro Tem Tony Dale, who is the Republican candidate for Texas State Representative, District 136 and hopefully, my next state rep! Several others may also attend. Four years ago when the party hosted a similar event it was very well attended so I hope we have a similar turn out this year.

Then, next week, the local GOP as well as the Texans for Tony Dale Campaign will host a joint grand opening and ribbon cutting of the southern office of the party for the presidential campaign season on Thursday, Sept. 6th. The meet and greet begins at 4 p.m. and lasts until 6:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be held at 5:00 p.m. The new office will be opened at the Railyard on RM 1431 in Cedar Park, 601 Whitestone Blvd, Ste. 218. A number of local elected and regional elected officials are scheduled to attend. My good friends from the Williamson County Republican Women, where I served many years ago two terms as president, will provide the complimentary refreshments.

I hope you can attend one or both of these fun events! The fall campaign season should be exciting and hopefully end with a a great victory party on Nov. 6th!

On a personal note, thanks to all my readers out there for bearing with my infrequent posting of articles in this blog over the last few months. As some of you know, I survived an intense and bruising primary campaign for re-election marked with extremely negative campaigning, which included personal attacks, from my opponent and her supporters. Thanks to all the voters who re-elected me despite the negativity. So, I took some time off this summer to spend time with my loving husband, beautiful daughters, my big family and wonderful friends plus our rescued dogs. Now, I am ready to spend time getting my fellow conservatives elected at all levels! Thanks for all your support! On to victory on November 6th!
