Fall 2013 Preview: Style Details (Photos)

As cold winter nights transform into sunny spring days, most fashionistas think fall trends ahead of time. The Mercedes-Benz Fall 2013 fashion week, held in New York City, February 7th-14th, 2013, gave fashionistas a glimpse of the many style details available for the upcoming shopping season. These style details, often referred to as style elements, include fashion categories such as color, pattern, silhouette and accessory trends. Designers such as Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Donna Karen and Rachel Zoe gave fashion watchers a variety of style details within their collection during fashion week.

Key style details fashion photographers captured included wide cuffs and bellow sleeves, pattern-driven handbags, arm-length finger-less gloves, wrap-over faux and/or real fur stoles with matching hats, soft back view cut-out details, monotone shades as well as pops of color within ensembles. These were just a few of the captivating style details designers sent down the catwalk.

The spectacular set at the Marc Jacobs runway show featured a sun-like backdrop, which radiated warmth coupled with a touch of mystery. This setting was the perfect scene for the style-feast onlookers encountered. Details such as patterned coats with matching patterned hand bags added a luxurious touch to the overall look. Style elements such as patterned short-shorts with structured waist-length jackets and stream-lined long sleeve blouses paired with wrist-length gloves, added sophisticated drama to the runway ensembles. Long, full-sweep coats in
rich camel tones as well as mid-length belted jackets in lighter color shades also filled the runway. Style details like fur hats and stoles often paired with sweeping gowns at the Ralph Lauren collection quickly became a fashion fave for most style watchers. Elaborately trimmed wide belts were also key focal points. Donna Karen added style details such as asymmetrical hems and sweeping gowns in luxurious fabrics with delicately angled back view cut-outs. Large plaid-like patterned coats, arm-length gloves and wide lapels on vest-like jackets were just a few of the style points implemented through out Rachel Zoe's collection. Other designers like Kithe Brewster, featured contrasting bell-like sleeves and full sweep draped gowns in rich green tones. Chantilly Rich and Rich War paired fully-draped off-the-shoulder blouses over short-shorts as well as complementary patterned sleeves. These sleeve treatments are sure to make bold fashion statements throughout the fall 2013 season.
