The fall season can bring out some of the biggest movies of the year, many adapted
from books. Will this fall live up to the trend? (Photo: Bill Longshaw )
Someone once said that if summer movies bring out most of the action-packed blockbusters of the year, then the fall season brings out movies with more character development and intricate plots. There seems to be some of both in the Fall, 2009 line-up of movies adapted from books.
If you are cracking open the books this fall, maybe at least one or two of them can be books you read for pleasure, purely recreational. If you enjoy biographies, graphic novels, vampire thrillers, children's books, or young adult coming-of-age stories, you will be in luck this fall. If you are looking forward to a full season of serious dramas, you may find your weekends at the theater a bit lacking.
Check out the calendar below for adapted films coming out in September, October, and November. Click on a film title to read more about it.
