The last 2013 NFL live streaming and televised game of the week 16 schedule arrives with Monday Night Football on Dec. 23 for fans to enjoy. One of the squads, the Atlanta Falcons have done a complete turnaround from last season's success, while the other, the San Francisco 49ers, are among the contenders to win it all in the postseason. Tonight's TV and live stream online NFL game from the schedule is presented to fans courtesy of the ESPN networks.
An NFL.com report on Dec. 23 indicates that tonight’s game is a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship game, but the Falcons won’t be among the playoff contenders this postseason, while the 49ers are one of the favorites from the NFC to reach the Super Bowl for their second straight year. Monday night’s game will also be the final regular season game for the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park, as a new stadium will be used in the 2014 season. Not only that, but this game and next week’s are “must-win” situations for the 49ers.
That’s because right now, only two NFC teams have secured playoff spots: the Seahawks and the Panthers. Should the 49ers get upset tonight, and then lose again next weekend to the Cardinals, the Niners could be out of the playoffs. The 49ers also have a shot at the NFC West top seed, if they can win their next two games. Of course, they’ll also need both the Panthers and Seahawks to lose their final games of the season, which seems to have a low possibility of happening. Nonetheless, that certainly sets a scene for tonight’s game in San Francisco. If the 49ers win, they’re officially in the playoffs.
Atlanta holds an unimpressive record of 4-10 this season, a surprising fact as they were nearly in the Super Bowl just a season ago. They’ve only won a single game on the road, and while they have won two of their last three games, not many people are expecting an upset tonight. Still, they could play the role of spoilers, should Matt Ryan and company bring their “A+” game, which they’ll certainly need against a squad like San Francisco.
Odds makers have the 49ers as tonight’s favorites, with the line first opening at 10 points and rising up to 14 points at various books. The over/under total opened at 44 1/2 and is currently as high as 46 1/2 at various books. As for the weather, temperatures will reach the high 50’s to low 60’s for tonight’s game under fair conditions. The most notable injury is wide receiver Julio Jones for the Falcons, who hasn’t played since Oct. 7.
Monday Night Football featuring the Falcons vs. 49ers has a scheduled start time of 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The game will be presented in standard or hi-definition for television viewers on ESPN. In addition, WatchESPN sports broadband network will allow customers of select cable or satellite companies to watch this game live streaming online. There's also audio coverage available on NFL Audio Pass and Sirius XM radio subscription services for those who want to listen to the play-by-play. Subscribers of NFL Game Rewind can see a full on-demand replay of tonight's game as well.
