Falcons' fan stabbed after Atlanta fails to be part of Super Bowl 2013 matchup

A Falcons fan was stabbed after Atlanta lost to the San Francisco 49ers, according to a Jan. 20 Sports Illustrated report. The 49ers became half of the Super Bowl 2013 matchup in a comeback victory over the Falcons at the Georgia Dome.

Unfortunately, things got worse for one Falcons fan after the team lost. The fan was actually stabbed in the neck outside the Georgia Dome after the disappointing NFC Championship loss. Apparently, a Falcons fan and a 49ers fan ended up fighting in the silver lot near Gate D after the game, and that altercation led to the Falcons fan getting stabbed in the neck.

What an awful ending to this game for these fans! It is always incredibly difficult for your team to win, but getting into an argument after the game can only lead to something even worse when so many high emotions are involved. You can hear one fan's emotional response after the 49ers win in the video to the left.

Now a Falcons fan has been stabbed and taken to the hospital. There is no immediate word on this fan's condition.
