Falcon Lake investigator's decapitated head turned over to Mexico Army

The decapitated head of a Mexican investigator working on the Falcon Lake missing American case was turned over to the Mexican army said the sheriff of Zapata County, Texas.

County Sheriff  of Zapata County Sigifredo Gonzalez says Commander Rolando Flores, head of state investigators Mexican city of Miguel Aleman, is reporting the investigator's head has been delivered but the body has not been recovered.

American Citizen David Hartley was attacked by Mexican drug cartel pirates on Falcon Lake.

David and Tiffany Hartley were riding jet skis in the lake on the Texas-Mexico border Thursday, September 30, 2010 about 2:45 p.m. when pirates on at least two boats advanced and started shooting guns at them.

Mrs. Hartley said her husband had been shot in the head and fell in the water indicated Sheriff Gonzalez.

According to Gonzalez the couple was returning from the Mexico side of the lake after sightseeing and taking photos of the well-known remains of Old Guerrero.

Tiffany Hartley at first turned around to help pull her husband out of the water, but the gunmen opened fire on her and she had to speed away.

This killing was the first among many known attacks from Mexico drug cartel gunmen on Falcon Lake this year.

The pirates aggressively chased Mrs. Hartley into the U.S. waters and continued shooting. Texas public safety officials said the cartel members are known to use AK-47s or AR-15s on their victims.

In Agust the pirates used a local fisherman's boat to tape the misspelled term word "Game Wardin" on the side to get closer to potential victims.

The couple, from McAllen, Texas, was planning to move back to their home state of Colorado soon, according to the sheriff.

“Obama doesn’t think we need much help on the Texas border, but he will send the military into Somali to deal with pirates,” said Eddie Ortiz, of Rio Grande City. “Hell, this in our country with our own citizens—wake up America!”

I would like to return the favor, and to think they were thinking the wife may have had something to do with it, I have a friend who hunts down south and has the same problem with the gun toting bad guys, what nerve, during deer season with not a care for their saftey.

As for this particular man, I'm sorry he's dead but it was stupid to go to the Mexican side knowing what we know about the violence there. He didn't deserve to have happen to him what did but he took a dumb risk and paid the ultimate price. There are a lot of safe places to jet ski.

Wait a minute? Is the Examiner reporting that the missing American was beheaded? All the other news agencies are reporting that a MEXICAN investigator's head was delivered in a suitcace - not the missing American's. But even this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Thank you for your comment. When I talked with the sheriff's office, he was very excited, rushed and I believe I may have misunderstood him.
    I have corrected.
