Fake 911 call draws cops to Kardashian LA home

As if the Kardashians don’t have enough going on in their busy lives, the police were called out to the family’s Los Angeles home by a fake 911 call according to the Miami Herald on Jan. 20.

Naturally the police aren’t too pleased and are looking for the person responsible for reporting an emergency at the Kardashian home in Malibu.

Steve Whitmore, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department there says it is premature to call this another case of “swatting.” “Swatting” is a hoax used to draw out the police, particularly the highly-trained specialized units like SWAT teams. Deputies who responded to the call found no crime had been committed at the reality TV stars’ home.

Kim Kardashian called foul when she turned to Twitter saying the hoax was both “dangerous” and “not a joke.”

Other hoaxes in the recent past include reports of an armed robbery at Tom Cruise’s home in Beverly Hills. Last month the homes of Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher were reported as scenes of violence by a boy who was later arrested by police.
